Connect Stripe read-only

Paste a restricted key with read access. We check it cannot change anything, run the audit, and delete the key when we are done. How we handle your data

Encrypted as soon as it reaches our server. Deleted when the audit finishes.

We send the report here. Only this address can unlock the customer list.

We check the key is read-only before anything else happens.

Create a read-only key in Stripe

Takes about two minutes. You can revoke it in Stripe at any time.

  1. 1
Open Developers, then API keys in the Stripe dashboard and click Create restricted key. If Stripe asks how you will use the key, choose the option that lets you set permissions yourself.
  2. 2
Name it Winback audit (read-only) so you can find it later.
  3. 3
Set exactly these to Read. Leave everything else as None.
    SectionResourcePermission
    Core resourcesCustomersRead
    Core resourcesProductsRead
    Core resourcesPricesRead
    Billing resourcesSubscriptionsRead
    Billing resourcesInvoicesRead

We do not need Events, Charges, Payment methods or anything with Write. If we can confirm the key can write, we refuse it and tell you which permission to change.

  4. 4
Click Create key, copy the key that starts with rk_live_ and paste it here. Want to try first? A test mode key (rk_test_) works too. For a test mode key, also set Test clocks to Read.
